Waiting for the call

Hiya,

I'm sitting at home on a beautiful, sunny November 11th. I've just had a personal moment of silence in Remembrance and now have Danny Michel's Tales from the Invisible Man on. (He's at the Black Sheep this weekend!!) Why am I not at the War Memorial (aka "Warme") like I was this time last year?

Before I answer that, let's remember last Remembrance Day briefly. If I remember correctly, it was the very first time I actually attended the service at Warme. Puff of Logic and I braved the bitter cold and it was so worth it. The ceremony was incredibly moving and I was glad to be there. Afterwards was either gin and pie (classy!) or tea chez P-of-L's. I think it was tea because it was so damn cold out! After that, I stopped off at the grocery store on the way home and bumped into my dear, dear high school friend SJG (creative nicknames elude me right now). We'd fallen out of touch since high school and I was so happy and surprised to see him! Now we hang out on a regular basis and I couldn't be happier about that!

To me, Remembrance Day also means remembering people in your life that you have lost. I always like to take a minute and think of my Grandparents who have passed on, as well as the two friends I lost way too early. And also, my Ginger. They are all always in my heart.

So back to today. Why am I in? Because my brother, Wag, is going to call sometime soon for me to pick him up at the bus station! Yes, he's back from England and I can hardly wait to see him. :)

In Nanowrimo news, I'm less that 1,000 words away from 20,000 words. I'm edging towards 100 pages making my book the longest ever in my history! I'm so proud to have gotten as far as I have and I've got the steam to continue and finish. This is turning out to be such a great experiment! And, while it's by no means easy, it's definitely not as hard as I thought it would to set aside the two hours/day to do it.

Last night marked the beginning of Birthday Celebrations! I'll be 27 on Monday...whoa. I hit the Fox and Feather with a bunch of my fabu work friends. Tomorrow, Joe and I are going out to dinner, then going out with friends for more birthday madness. Sunday is the pinnacle: lunch at Oma's with my family...Artie too! :D Monday is lunch with mom, Tuesday is lunch with my unit at work and Wednesday is lunch with K-80. A full week of celebrating. I love it!!

Speaking of K-80, I told her about the crazy hair dresser I wrote about in my last post. Apparently her old roommate's wife met him at a dog park and now he cuts her hair. The word is he's on the level but I the Hair Loft, so it's unlikely that I'll take the plunge and go see him. K-80 knows everyone!

K, that's it for me for now. Have a wonderful day!

Ciao,

eebie.
