Fashionable People

Spring is coming. Nobody believes me but it is and I've got proof. As the weather warms up and the snow starts to melt, the fashionable people emerge from hibernation. Catch a glimpse below...

Joel Plaskett Goodness: the inspiration for the title of this post and one of our favourite rock stars!

Scott rocked the Zoran Dobric show last Thursday in Toronto's Fashion Week! I was in Toronto for work and managed to catch the show [and a free Orangina!].

Another fashionable gentleman: Joe dons his new vest.

The details:

Pattern: Retro Vest from Kristin Spurkland's "The Knitting Man(ual)"
Yarn: Rowan Felted Tweed in dark blue (133-22B6), denim blue (141-5M5), tan (157-3015) and dark brown (153-19B3)
Time: 28 October 2007 - 20 February 2008
Modifications: My gauge was off so I added a 1" panel in dark blue on each side.
Thoughts: It was a straight forward pattern that was easy to memorize and fun to make. Also: it's my first wearable (not counting hats & mitts)!

After working on a big project, I needed an instant gratification giftie for myself! Enter the Noro scarf:

The details:

Guidelines: Brooklyn Tweed
Yarn: Noro silk garden #255 & #258
Time: 14 February 2008 - 08 March 2008
Thoughts: Love! Watching the stripes develop as I knit them was pure suspenseful fun. The Noro scarf is going on my list of Christmas Knits.

On the needles now is The Hexacomb Cardigan from Interweave Knits in indigo Phildar yarn.

While waiting for the crocuses to catch up to us fashionable people, let's check out Diane's new paintings and see S & her sweetie's progress on their DIY kitchen reno.

Happy Spring!

Erika.
